Judge

Do we occasionally forget we are simply human?

I get caught up much too often
Forming rigid opinions
Of Life and Nature and God,
Of what they are and
How they reward.

I get caught up much too often
Forming rigid opinions
Of people based off of one
Or two or three occasions,
Of their body language and
Therefore who they are
And what they deserve.

I get caught up much too often
Assessing, judging, self-praising
And dealing off of rigid impressions
That I overlook much too often
To care genuinely and be empathetic,
To nurture and not pull down,
To love and forgive: to be
Simply human yet divine.
